Crooked Oak is currently looking for scary stories to be featured in upcoming middle-grade horror anthologies. Stories can be anywhere from 1,000 words to 3,000 words. 

Pocket Scares

Crooked Oak is accepting submissions for the Pocket Scares series. Scary stories that fit in your pocket. Monsters, ghosts, ghouls, goblins, you name it.  The short books are designed for reluctant readers that love scary stories.  Books should be between 10,000 to 25,000 words.

SUBMISSIONS
Send your work to shaneb@crookedoakpress.com. Be sure to include the submission category in the subject line. Your work should be in standard manuscript format, double-spaced, with 12-point font, and in Times New Roman.  Include a heading with your contact info and word count. Submit your work as an attachment, a doc. or PDF is fine. Then include a cover letter in the body of your email. A little about yourself and your submitted work.
